Divers at Serra Pelada, Fortaleza, CE |
This October the winds have a truce and clean water touched the beach! Divers Sea CearĂ¡ took to make the recognition former dive sites and assess its operability.
In a team of 8 divers we started toward the Serra Pelada. This point is located halfway between the State Park and Port Marine Mucuripe. They are the remains of an ancient container deposited there in the 80's and some hardware that earned that name by the amount of marine life that existed there. Older divers have reported a considerable amount of grouper, a prehistoric fish whose species is endangered.
found some metals and only the frame of the container, as their "walls" a long fall to pieces. Although unattractive a good amount of marine life was present on site at a depth of 22m. We did a drift (diving following the stream) the search for other structures but nothing was found.
We went to the place where they are creating new places to dive but the water did not look good visibility. These points are ideal during the diving season runs from March to July. We changed the route and we approached the coast further to dive the wreck Mara Hope.
In Mara found visibility of up to 4m between its hardware and little marine life: a few potatoes, forests and lancets, a timid lobster tried not to be noticed in your loca. Diving this wreck must be done carefully by the amount of loose plates that grind with the tidal forces.
To whom the brand of interest below the Serra Pelada S 03 37.888 / 038 27.150 W
